A major house fire broke out in Findlay Creek this morning at Cache Bay Crescent. The call came in at 4:52 a.m. and by 5:01 a.m. firefighters had rescued one of the occupants. At 5:15 a.m., a second alert was issued to bring in additional resources.
The fire was brought under control five hours later.
Several firefighters suffered minor injuries; one was taken to hospital in stable condition, and two others were treated at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
