EVENING OF THE YEAR IN OTTAWA 🔥

A Blast of Punk-Rock Energy Is Coming to Ottawa: Dmitry Spirin Live!

Rock fans in Ottawa and Gatineau have a great reason to clear an evening in their calendars this fall. Dmitry Spirin, longtime frontman of the legendary punk-rock band Tarakany!, is heading out to his first-ever concert tour of Canada. His Ottawa concert will take place on November 11, 2025 at Brass Monkey club.

For anyone, who followed the russian-language rock scene even a little, over the past three decades, Dmitry Spirin hardly needs an introduction. The story of "Tarakany!" group began in Moscow in 1991. Spirin started in the group as the bass player, later became its vocalist and wrote many of its best-known songs. “I Look at Them”, “5 Words”, “Ghetto Borders”, “The Happiest Man on Earth” -- several generations of fans know and like these and many other songs by heart since then.

After Tarakany! stopped performing in 2022 and Spirin moved abroad, he gradually returned to songwriting and live concerts. In 2024 he released his debut solo album, "Hot War", gathered together a new band, and in summer 2025 the musicians took their new program on a tour across Europe.

I personally saw Dmitry Spirin on Tarakany! concerts several times, so I can say this for sure - no video can show what happens when this man walks on stage. It feels like he generates electricity himself. Charisma, drive and energy literally pour out of him, and within few minutes the whole room becomes a part of the show.

But Spirin is more than a flashy frontman. He is a truly virtuoso rock musician: confident, precise, explosive and completely natural on stage. Hearing and seeing him live is nothing like putting on a recording at home.

That’s why, in my opinion, people in Ottawa and Gatineau are very lucky that a rock star of this level arrives to our city on tour. The Canadian program will include legendary Tarakany! songs, covers from the repertoire of Priklyucheniya Elektronikov, and new solo material. For longtime fans, it’s a chance to hear again the music of a whole era. For younger audiences, it’s a chance to understand why Spirin has so many devoted fans.

For the most dedicated fans, there is a limited Meet & Greet package: soundcheck access, a visit to the green room, an exclusive badge and a poster.

And my advice, as someone who already had seen Spirin on stage, is very simple: buy your tickets now and don’t leave it to the last minute. Musicians with this kind of history, charisma and energy don’t come to Ottawa every day.

TICKETS ARE LIMITED.
