The ongoing heat wave in the capital is taking a particularly hard toll on the homeless.
At the Ottawa Mission shelter, staff are out on the streets almost every hour to hand out bottles of water and monitor people's well-being.
According to Catherine, one of the shelter coordinators, it's important not only to provide water on days like these, but also to closely monitor behavior - the slightest changes can indicate overheating or deterioration in health.
